On arrival in Chiang Rai in the Golden Triangle, transfer to your hotel. Meet your group of like-minded travelers and tour leader for welcome drinks and a briefing. Explore the Golden Triangle region on the way to an award-winning hilltop lodge overlooking Laos and the mighty Mekong.
Take part in a batik class, run by your Hmong hosts before journeying to the border next morning fora slow boat down the tranquil Mekong. Float past traditional villages and rural scenery.
Stay the night in the former trading post of Pakbeng, on the edge of the rugged Mekong.

Fly to Vientiane. Visit the grand Patuxai monument, and the COPE Center to learn about the impact of Indochina’s ‘Secret War’. Sample a Lao coffee, explore gilded That Luang and Wat Sisaket, and have some free time. In the evening, attend a baci ceremony and hear a traditional music performance over a delicious ‘jaew’ dinner.

Fly to Pakse. Explore a market, then travel to the south’s ancient capital, Champasak and visit Wat Phou. Explore the Mekong’s 4,000 islands and Southeast Asia’s largest falls. In a small boat, search for the elusive Irrawaddy river dolphin. In your free time, explore by bicycle.

Stop to see waterfalls on your way to cross the Laos border and journey by road into rural Cambodia. Along the way, enjoy a local lunch and support a women's development center at Steung Treng. In the afternoon, stop at the seven-tiered pyramid of Koh Ker, before driving to your hotel at the base of Preah Vihear mountain near the Thai border.

Visit the formerly disputed mountain temple of Preah Vihear and discover the historically significant town of Anlong Venh for lunch. Continue onto the jungle river system at Kbal Spean before arriving in Siem Reap. Venture to remote Boeng Mealea temple, visit a fascinating landmine museum and a village producing palm sugar. At dawn, walk through the jungle to see the sun rising over Angkor Wat, then enjoy a local breakfast and a monk-blessing before exploring tree-covered Ta Prohm. Attend a farewell dinner including an Apsara dance show. On your final day, enjoy free time until your departure transfer.
